A Stellar Award Tribute Event
HTM’s Award Tribute Reception on May 3 at the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge was a phenomenal success. The event, which raised more than $50,000 for HTM and its students, attracted over 200 graduates and friends of the department.

Niki Leondakis was honored at the reception with the 2011 Stephen E. Elmont Distinguished Alumni Award, the department’s highest honor to an alumnus. The award recognizes visionary leadership, inspired by Elmont, who was founder of Creative Gourmet, one of New England's largest catering companies. Leondakis, who was also keynote speaker, is President and Chief Operating Officer of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, which owns 51 boutique hotels and restaurants throughout the United States.

Thanks go to the 2011 Host Committee members and to Advisory Board President Rob McCarthy for his leadership. We’re also grateful to Dusty Rhodes and Stephanie Harold at Conventures for exceptional event planning, and to Rick Colangelo at the Hotel Marlowe for the event’s venue. Finally, we applaud everyone who attended the event and shared in HTM pride.

See you at next year’s reception!
